Shahab Hosseini to judge films at Fajr fest

Internationally-renowned Iranian actor Shahab Hosseini has been named as a jury member at 2020 Fajr Film Festival.

Internationally-renowned Iranian actor Shahab Hosseini has been named as a jury member at 2020 Fajr Film Festival. 

Fajr Film Festival Public Relations reported on Thursday that the director of the fest, Masoud Naqashzadeh named the jury members for the 40th edition.

Famous Iranian actor Hosseini will serve on the jury in the latest run of the event to be held in February. 

Besides actor/producer Hosseini, other jurors include Masoud Jafari-Jozani (writer/director/producer), Majid Entezami (music composer), Mohammad-Ali Basheh-Ahangar (writer/director), Mohammad Davoudi (cinematographer), Mehdi Sajjadehchi (screenwriter) and Pejman Lashkaripour (critic/producer).

The members of the jury will judge movies competing for 40th Fajr fest Crystal Simorgh.

The FFF coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies across Iran, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

An international version of the event will be held later in 2022.

Starting from 2023, the domestic and international versions of Fajr will be once again held as part of one event titled “Fajr International Film Festival”.

Since its establishment in 1982, the FFF has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

The 2022 Fajr Film Festival runs on February 1-12
